Well, well, well… It’s 2025, and we’re in it.
You know what time it is, right? New Year’s Resolution season. The floodgates have opened with articles promising a new and improved version of you who’s going to step out into the world like some ultra-glowing, perfectly curated influencer—finding purpose, health, love, and maybe even a six-pack along the way.
Cue the eye roll. 😏

Listen, I’m all for self-improvement. But after a decade of those same promises that you’re going to transform (just follow these 10 easy steps, right?!), I’m getting a little… skeptical. I mean, really? Is this the year I finally become a 100% perfect human being who wakes up every day with a green smoothie in hand and the energy of a thousand suns?
I smell bullsh*t… or maybe it’s just my pessimism talking. You choose. 🙃
I get it. I’ve been there. My 30s are kicking in (side note: they’re as glamorous as they sound), and I’m still over here trying to figure out how to pay off my student loans, deal with a confusing dating life, and not drown in an endless sea of adulting. But hey, at least I’m not comparing myself to everyone else anymore, right?
I did the BIG NO-NO and compared myself to others. I spent years hitting the books, acing everything I could…ok attempted acing🤣, and still ended up with a sh*t ton of student debt and no clear roadmap to where I’m supposed to be. And don’t even get me started on chasing people who didn’t want me back—ugh!
And then, suddenly, it hit me: I may not have made giant leaps, but holy hell, I’ve made progress.
I’m stronger than when I started, even if it doesn’t feel that way.
So, let’s look at the little wins, yeah? 😍
- I stopped letting toxic and ignorant people hang around in my life because, seriously, who needs that headache (and heartache).
- I finally started saying “No” (and it felt kinda badass, not gonna lie).
- I took more time for me (still figuring out how to do that without feeling guilty, but we’re getting there. Remember, little wins here people!).
- I smiled more. And yes, that still counts. 😌
Big change? Nope. But small, meaningful progress? Hell yes.
And guess what? You’re doing the same. You’re still showing up, day after day, and doing your thing—whether it’s getting up to feed your dog, texting your bestie after the world’s worst date (again), or praying Nicole and Benaiah from Love is Blind stay together (fingers crossed!). 🙏 (and if you already know…please don’t tell me 😒)
To my 90s babies, millennials, and fellow dreamers—yeah, it’s been a rough few years (maybe longer). But you’re still here. You’re still fighting. And you wanna know why?
Because you are fierce.
Because you are magnificent.
Because you are beautiful in more ways than you know. 💖
And if no one else tells you, I will: I’m so freaking proud of you. So, forget the “New Year, New You” hype, and let’s celebrate the amazing, real, and sometimes messy you showing up in all the little ways.
It could be a smile that brightens your friend’s day.
Or you might want to go back to school.
Hell, maybe it’s finally saying “No” without feeling bad about it. These are small wins, but they’re still wins. And they matter.
So, if you’re feeling defeated or questioning, “What the hell is the point”…
The point is, you’re still here.
You’re fighting every day, even when it feels like you’re just surviving. Even when it feels like you’re just not getting anywhere.
So… before the negative self-talk works its way in, take a second to look back at everything you’ve survived. Everything you’ve done.
And say it with me:
Damn, I did that sh*t!
Me 😊
If you feel like you’re not going anywhere, trust me, you are.
Small wins lead to significant changes. Whether it’s in tiny steps or grand leaps, change is happening.
And you’re making that happen!
And guess what? I’ll be right here cheering you on.
Because we’re in this together.
More laughs, more smiles, and small steps ❤️
